Products – Wood
An exceptional, sustainable choice like no other, wood offers the beauty, warmth, and durability for your flooring needs. Wood makes any room look good and enhances its value in the long run.
A natural resource, wood is both renewable and recyclable, and a perfect choice for a healthy environment due to its resistance to dust and other allergens.
Another sustainable, natural resource for flooring with the durability and warmth of wood is bamboo, a fast-growing grass. Since bamboo matures from sprouting to harvesting in three to five years, an acre of bamboo can provide significantly more flooring materials than an acre of trees.
Facility Services Group, Inc. offers installation for the two types of wood available on the market today: solid and engineered.
Solid wood flooring is a single plank made from a single piece of timber. The thickness of solid wood varies, generally from 5/16” to 3/4”. The benefit of solid wood flooring is that it can be sanded and refinished several times over. Installation is done on or above grade.
Engineered wood consists of two or more layers of wood in the form of a plank. The grain of each layer alternate, giving the plank stability as well as the ability to withstand changes in temperature. While this type of flooring can be sanded and finished, it cannot be done as many times as solid wood flooring. Engineered wood flooring can be installed above, on, or below grade.
